Our Weavers
The weavers of the cotton industry are among the hardest-working people in the world. They spend long hours sitting at their looms, weaving in trigate patterns and designs on to cotton fabric. Their work requires great skill, attention to detail, and patience
Despite the beauty of their work, the weavers of ten face many hardships. The work is physically demanding, and the weavers often suffer from back and neck pain as a result of sitting in the same position for hours on end. They also face the challenge of competing with cheap, mass-produced fabrics from other countries, which can be difficult for them to sell their handmade products at a fair price.
Another challenge that the weavers of the cotton industry face is the lack of recognition and support from the wider community. Many people are unaware of the amount of hard work and dedication that goes into creating a single piece of cotton fabric. This lack of recognition can make it difficult for the weavers to earn a living wage and to continue their craft.
